Rarr designs

Empowering confidence

In a world where fast fashion dominates and inclusivity is often an afterthought, one Australian brand is proving that heart, hustle, and authenticity still matter. RARR Designs, a Hallam based clothing label founded by Rachel and her sister Jessica Peagram, is rewriting the rules of activewear with a focus on real bodies, family roots, and fierce confidence.

From passion project to movement

“Honestly, there was nothing in the market that made me go ‘yes, this is it!” Rachel shares.“At the time, I was teaching at a dance studio in Narre Warren and working as a sportswear designer at Adidas. I started making shorts for my pole dance students as a hobby (we needed something cute, right?!), and boom! What started as a little side project turned into this amazing journey.”

Rachel admits the road hasn’t been easy, “think long hours, constant hustle, and occasionally running on coffee” but the reward lies in the women RARR empowers every day. “Hearing from women who feel absolutely amazing in our outfits makes every bit of it worth it. That’s what keeps us going!”

Milestones that matter

RARR Designs recently celebrated a major milestone, its 10th birthday with a feel-good event that truly captured the heart of the brand. The team hosted a free photoshoot at their factory, inviting customers to come along, rock their favourite RARR outfits, and feel like absolute superstars. Rachel marks the occasion as one of the businesses proudest achievements, sharing, “the energy was unreal!” It was a true celebration of community, confidence, and connection.

One of the things that sets RARR apart is its strong commitment to local manufacturing. With 50% of their production proudly based right here in Australia, the brand continues to back local jobs, maintain high quality standards, and keep that uniquely Aussie-made touch that customers know and love. It’s a decision that not only supports the local economy but allows RARR to stay hands-on with their process, ensuring every piece reflects the care and passion that built the brand in the first place.

From humble beginnings in a suburban garage to becoming a go-to name in polewear and activewear, RARR Designs is a shining example of what can be achieved with creativity, community spirit, and a whole lot of hustle.

“Beyond fashion, Rachel sees RARR Designs as a vehicle for change. “It’s about so much more than the clothing, it’s about self-love, empowerment, and showing women how truly stunning they are.”

Rooted in family, driven by values

“It’s all about family at Rarr,” Rachel says. “My sister and I are literally attached at the hip every day, building this business together. Our mum pitches in by packing orders and our 95-year-old nan would come into the factory to help cut threads until last year, she’s the real MVP”

That strong family foundation extends to RARR’s customers, who Rachel describes as an extension of the family. “It’s about connection, authenticity, and just spreading those good vibes that make RARR so special.

Designed for real bodies, inspired by real feedback

RARR’s commitment to body positivity isn’t just talk, it’s embedded in their design process. “We’re big on asking and listening to our customers. They tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what they’re loving,” Rachel explains. RARR rigorously tests designs on real bodies of all shapes and sizes to ensure they fit well and provide the right support where it’s needed most, dancing and working out.

That feedback loop is what fuels the brand’s innovation. “Everyone deserves to feel confident in their own skin, no matter their shape or size.”

A brand with purpose

Though 2025 presents unique challenges, "especially with everything going on in the world, social media vs AI," Rachel notes, the purpose behind the brand keeps her grounded. “Our brand truly supports women, empowering them to feel confident in their own skin. Seeing that transformation in someone when they put on our clothing and feel amazing is the most rewarding part.”

A movement for self-love

Rachel is especially proud of the impact RARR has had on its local community. “We recently did a photoshoot where we invited 20 local women of all shapes and sizes (not models, just everyday women) from sizes XS to 3XL to model our designs. What I love most about these shoots is the incredible confidence boost they give to the women involved.”

That mission is set to grow even further with the opening of a brand new hub in Hallam. “It will be a welcoming, uplifting space for all women. We want it to be a place where confidence thrives, where women feel supported, and where they can embrace themselves exactly as they are.”
