Our judges will not only crown a winner in each category, they’ll also select one standout as the Casey Business of the Year 2026!

Excellence in Community and Partnership

You’re a business that lifts others up. This award recognises businesses that go the extra mile to strengthen the broader Casey economy by prioritising local supply chains, building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities that benefit the whole community.

You demonstrate an outstanding commitment to exceptional service and strong relationships, not only with customers but with fellow businesses, suppliers and community organisations. Through strategic partnerships and genuine collaboration, you achieve results that no single business could deliver alone.

This award celebrates businesses that see success as a shared journey. You champion local collaboration, support Casey’s diverse business ecosystem and help build a more resilient, connected and prosperous community.

To demonstrate your Excellence in Community and Partnership, the judging panel will assess:

  • Your commitment to supporting the local economy through local suppliers, partnerships and collaborative initiatives
  • Clear examples of strong, mutually beneficial relationships with community organisations, businesses or industry partners
  • Evidence of results achieved through collaboration, such as shared projects, improved community outcomes or strengthened supply chains
  • Innovative approaches to partnership building and cross sector cooperation
  • Positive feedback, testimonials or measurable outcomes that show the impact of your partnerships
  • How your engagement, marketing and relationship, building activities reflect a genuine commitment to collaboration and community benefit
 

Excellence in Access and Inclusion

Are you a business leading the way in inclusion, diversity, and accessibility?

Your business embraces Casey’s diverse candidate pool and fosters an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives are valued and supported.

You're recognised as a local business who excels in providing exceptional service and access to people with a disability. You actively promote diversity in your workforce, leadership, and business practices, creating a culture of respect, equity, and belonging.

This award recognises businesses that implement meaningful initiatives to ensure equal opportunities and embrace diverse perspectives to drive innovation, collaboration, and success.

To demonstrate your commitment to a diverse and inclusive business, the judging panel will assess:

  • Clear demonstration of a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion
  • A workplace culture that prioritises employee performance, retention, and attraction
  • The integration of your diversity, access and inclusion policy into the business' everyday operations
  • The strength of marketing strategies, brand identity, and customer engagement are also considered
 

Best Eco-Friendly Business

Is sustainability a core focus of your business? Do you embrace the Circular Economy? This category gives you the opportunity to showcase your commitment to sustainable practices.

Whether it's through reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, sourcing local products, or lowering your carbon emissions we want to recognise your efforts in fostering a more sustainable future. Don’t miss the chance to highlight your dedication to environmental responsibility.

To evaluate how your business integrates circular economy principles into its operations and sustainability efforts, the judging panel will assess:

  • Strategies and initiatives demonstrating your business’s commitment to becoming more sustainable
  • How your business operates within the circular economy
  • Practical examples of everyday actions taken to minimise environmental impact
  • Employee engagement in sustainability, including training, initiatives, and policies implemented within the workplace
  • Contribution to the long-term health of the environment and local community, through initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental awareness
  • The strength of marketing strategies, brand identity, and customer engagement are also considered
 

Excellence in Business Innovation

You're more than just an idea! You demonstrate exceptional creativity and forward-thinking in developing new ideas, products, services, or processes.

This award celebrates businesses that push the boundaries of traditional practices by introducing an innovative product, service, or process. It recognises businesses that embrace change and continuously evolve to meet the needs of the market, creating lasting value and setting new industry standards.

Innovative means your business has:

  • Delivered a solution to a real-world problem, supported by evidence that the problem exists
  • Built relationships to identify where your product or service fits and validated its demand
  • Collaborated with industry experts to develop and refine the product or service
  • Committed to ongoing innovation, including your ability to adapt to changes, respond to challenges, and continuously evolve to meet emerging trends or needs
  • Has the potential to expand the innovation to other businesses or users

Best Micro Business

Small but mighty!

This category celebrates micro businesses with up to five employees, including home-based businesses, sole traders, and mobile operators. You deliver personalised service that meets your clients’ needs while staying agile and adaptable in an ever-changing business landscape. Whether overcoming challenges or seizing new opportunities, you prove that big impact comes in small packages!

Your dedication, resourcefulness, and hard work set you apart, building strong customer relationships and driving success. This award recognises those who go above and beyond, whether through exceptional service, smart growth, or innovation.

Showcasing resilience, creativity, and excellence in every aspect of your business.

To demonstrate your unique micro business, the judging panel will assess:

  • Your business has 1 - 5 employees, including the owner
  • Demonstrates effective management and operational efficiency within a small team
  • Evidence of exceptional customer service, satisfaction, and retention strategies
  • Commitment to ethical business practices and putting the interests of customers, employees, or the community above personal gain
  • Ability to adapt to challenges, seize opportunities, and sustain business growth
  • The strength of marketing strategies, brand identity, and customer engagement are also considered
 

Best New Business

Have you turned a groundbreaking idea into a thriving new business in Casey? Do you offer a unique product or service that sets you apart from the competition? If you’ve introduced an innovative approach to running your business, supplying your products, or delivering your services, this category is for you.

Whether you're a trendsetter, introducing new ideas, or taking a different approach, we want to recognise your efforts in transforming your vision into a thriving business.

This award celebrates new businesses that show exceptional promise, creativity, and an ability to make an impact in their industry.

The judging panel will assess the following:

  • How your business has evolved from the initial business plan to where it stands today
  • The unique value and creative solutions your business brings to the market
  • The number of customers you’ve attracted and retained, and how you’ve fostered customer loyalty
  • Eligible businesses that have commenced operations between June 30 2022 and July 1 2025, across any sector
  • Revenue growth, profitability, and how well your business is performing
  • The strength of marketing strategies, brand identity, and customer engagement are also considered
 

Excellence in Customer Experience

You’re a business that puts your customers at the heart of everything you do. This award celebrates businesses that consistently deliver outstanding service, listen to their customers and create meaningful, positive experiences at every touchpoint.

You show a genuine commitment to understanding your customers’ needs, responding with care and building strong, lasting relationships. Through thoughtful service, continuous improvement and a customer first mindset, you help shape a culture of excellent customer care across Casey.

To demonstrate your Excellence in Customer Commitment, the judging panel will assess:

  • How effectively you understand and respond to customer needs, inquiries and feedback
  • Examples of personalised service that lead to positive and lasting customer relationships
  • Creative approaches that enhance the customer experience and improve satisfaction
  • Evidence of customer loyalty through testimonials, reviews or measurable customer outcomes
  • How brand presentation, communication and engagement practices support a customer first culture
 
 

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Casey Business Awards 2026 are free to enter
  • Business must be located and operating in the City of Casey
  • Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and hold relevant licenses, permits and approvals to operate the business before 1 June 2025
  • Businesses must have been in operation for a minimum of 12 months by 1 June 2025
  • A Business must not be in breach of any state/territory or local government law or regulation

  • Applications Open: 9.00am Monday 1 June 2026
  • Applications Close: 11.59pm Sunday 5 July 2026
  • Finalists Announced: Monday 24 August 2026
  • Judge Site visits: Tuesday 8 September - Friday 11 September 2026 
  • Winners Announced: Friday 13 November 2026 

Prizes

Category winners will receive cash prizes of $1,000, and Casey Business of the Year 2026 will receive $2,000.
