Rubbish your business' waste removal costs

With the financial (and environmental) cost of waste removal continuing to rise, there's a good chance that your business is feeling the pinch. 

The free Trim Your Bin program gives your business a specialised plan for your business’ waste and the local guidance to get it done – and Expressions of Interest are now open for its second round!

Kelly Rogerson, CEO of Palliative Care South East in Narre Warren, enrolled in the Trim Your Bin initiative to improve the disposal of food, green waste, and coffee grounds from their onsite café.

For them, sustainability transcends cost-saving, it embodies best practice.

Ms Rogerson said, “The program showed us simple opportunities, simple changes that would make it easier for people to comply.

“And it reinforced that it’s not that hard and that we can commit to it.” she said.

The program offers:

• an onsite waste assessment to identify the current waste situation and opportunities for improvement,
• a tailored action plan with practical and achievable actions to reduce waste, increase recycling and reuse, and save costs,
• expert consultant guidance and support to implement the action plan and monitor the progress, and
• a follow up waste assessment and report to measure the outcomes and impacts of the program.

The program has been developed with the support of the Circular Economy Councils Fund. The fund is delivered by Sustainability Victoria under the Victorian Government’s circular economy policy, Recycling Victoria: A New Economy.  

All registered businesses in Casey, Frankston and Mornington are eligible to participate in the program. The program is free but has limited space.
