BFIRM Personal Training

With the wellness industry among the hardest hit during the pandemic, personal trainers BFRIM were challenged, but leveraged their innovative nature to come out stronger than ever before – a challenge they also put to their clients.

But it wasn’t just throwing ideas at a wall that got them thinking about their latest and perhaps most exciting venture; thoughtful feedback from their loyal clients set them on the path to expand their service offering to include a Wellness Hub – which now resides in a fully refurbished factory next door to their own and already houses three allied health businesses.

Alongside their personal training services, the Wellness Hub allows them to get the best outcomes for their clients – many of whom suggested related ideas as they were time poor and looking for more convenient solutions to access complementary therapists.

Currently, residents in the wellness hub include osteopath, Anytime Osteopathy, physiotherapist, Physioworks, and nutritionist, My Nutrition Project. Each of whom have seen substantial increases in their respective client bases after co-locating.

The new space has also allowed them to create unique, specific spaces to run very different classes – allowing for more intimacy and creativity in their training styles and techniques.

In addition to the Wellness Hub, they work hard to reach more clients with partnerships with corporate organisations, student groups and local sporting clubs and continually cross-promote other businesses online - the 2022 key to online business success.

Once the wellness industry was permitted to return to face-to-face operations, BFIRM implemented a number of initiatives to make clients feel safe when returning, these included, rearranging equipment to ensure there was sufficient space for clients and trainers, changed appointment times to decrease client-to-client contact, set-up gazebos for outdoor training and capped classes.

To help the business to better handle the 85 per cent decrease in demand during the pandemic, they also rented out their equipment – to both clients and trainers and continued to offer online training.

While investing in the growth of their business, BFIRM also recognise the importance of investing in their staff by upskilling existing team members to be able to promote from within, and then providing ongoing education and training - among their trainers currently on-staff they have a combined 55+ years’ experience!

Launched in 2007 and located in Berwick’s booming industrial precinct, BFIRM offer their clients a dynamic and inviting space that includes personal training, coaching, strategy and advice on how to become healthier both physically and mentally. They serve a range of clients varying in ages, capabilities and backgrounds through small one on one sessions up to larger group sessions.
