Carolyn Carr, Blairlogie Living and Learning

Carolyn Carr has been CEO of Blairlogie Living and Learning since 2012, for ten years, transforming the organisation from a small, single service supporting 96 clients to a multi-faceted organisation supporting over 300 people.

Even during the pandemic’s uncertain times, Carolyn’s steadying hand ensured that the organisation was able to continue to provide support to its clients, maintain confidence among its stakeholders and provide ongoing employment for staff.

Her unwavering commitment during this period made sure that no one went without the support they depended upon.

And in a rare custom for the leader of such a large organisation (203 employees), Carolyn makes sure to check in with each member of staff every day and impressively, even remembers each of their names.

Despite this period of uncertainty and the challenges it posed to both Blairlogie and Carolyn in her role as CEO, the organisation continues to grow significantly. In February 2022, they commenced a $1.8 million extension and renovation project at their main site, purchased an additional property to expand its support capacity, employed an additional 30 new support workers and progressed Blairlogie Living and Housing.

For her commitment, Carolyn has also received a 2022 Holt Australia Day Award for her contribution to the community.
