Waverley Social Enterprises: Casey Business Awards 2026 - Excellence in Community and Partnership Finalist

Waverley Social Enterprises is a profit-for-purpose social enterprise dedicated to ensuring people with disability are valued, employed, and visible in the workforce. 

Operating in Hallam, Waverley has been delivering high-quality packaging, assembly, catering, and grounds maintenance services for more than 40 years, with every job creating meaningful, paid employment for hundreds of people living with disability. Individuals are matched to roles based on their skills, preferences, and aspirations, with dedicated support mentors providing tailored assistance to help them succeed. 

Through partnerships with local schools and support services, Waverley also provides structured work experience opportunities for students with disability, helping build a pipeline of future workforce participation across the Casey region. The program equips students with practical skills, workplace confidence, and clear employment pathways before they leave the education system. 

Philanthropic partnerships have further strengthened Waverley's capacity to deliver impact. Grants from the Kennedys Foundation and the Andrews Foundation have enabled investment in critical infrastructure and organisational capability, directly increasing the number of people supported into employment while enhancing the participant experience. 

Commercial partnerships with local businesses have also helped create a genuinely circular model, where revenue generated through Waverley's services is reinvested into supported employment opportunities, creating lasting social and economic benefits for the community.
