Blairlogie Living and Learning Inc

Empowering people living with a disability since 1987, Blairlogie Living and Learning Inc. employ an impressive 205 employees – 80 of whom started at the organisation in the past 12 months.

With their purpose as a strong motivator, they are able to celebrate a great deal of diversity among their employees – whom are representative of more than 30 different ethnicities and a wide range of ages. Some of their employees’ personal journeys are so celebrated they are even shared in the organisation’s Annual Report.

They also continually support their employees through their Employee Assistance Program, inspirational videos and online training sessions, for flexibility.

Impressively, Blairlogie is among the National Disability Service’s top ten percent of organisations in the 2021 State of the Sector Report – and their staff rate turnover is a measly 3 per cent.

In a similar way to other public-facing service organisations, Blairlogie experienced great challenges during the COVID-19 Pandemic and worked hard to adjust by changing their interviewing process to four-hour group sessions where they can interview up to 15 people at a time.

They’ve also created strong partnerships with local schools, with whom they offer vocational pathways for students in their senior years. Many students who undertake training in these programs with Blairlogie go on to undertake traineeships and higher training, such as Certificate IV in Disability. They have similar partnerships with higher education providers who are able to refer students seeking roles onto them.

As a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme provider, Blairlogie offer supports in a range of settings including supported independent living, individual and group activities, in-home support, respite and recreational services – and currently they offer such supports to more than 300 people from across South East Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

These support services exist to support people living with a disability to experience maximum independence and to participate in opportunities and experiences that enrich their lives. Blairlogie is located in Cranbourne South, but support people across South East Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
