Casey Business Awards 2022 judging panel – Expression of Interest
The City of Casey’s annual business awards is a premier event to celebrate and recognise inspirational local businesses who demonstrate business excellence. Every year Council comes together with Casey’s business community to reward, reflect on these achievements, and celebrate their success.
THE OPPORTUNITY
To ensure the awards are represented fairly, Council is seeking expressions of interest from industry professionals to form the 2022 award’s independent judging panel.
The awards' comprehensive judging process is designed to be fair, transparent, and independent of the Council, which relies on the generosity and expertise of a panel of professionals who can critically assess all application submissions.
THE BENEFITS
- Council will feature the Judges’ names and their organisations on Business Awards website pages and acknowledge them during the announcement of finalists and information on winners' events.
- Judges receive a complimentary invitation to attend the finalist announcement event and winner’s event.
THE PROCESS
- Judges will be paired up and assigned a category: Innovation, Employment, Sustainability or Business Leadership
- Each application has five questions that will need to be assessed
- Judging will take place online. All judges will be given a login code to the application platform
- Judges will score according to predetermined criteria, and the two judges’ scores will be combined
- A Casey Business of the Year 2022 will be selected from the category winners based on top scores and judges' deliberations.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Entrants of the Casey Business Awards are not eligible for the judging panel
- The role of a panel Judge is voluntary
- Judges must declare any conflicts of interest, retain the confidentiality of information provided in applications, and at no stage are they to engage with applicants for commercial interests during the judging process.
REQUIREMENTS
- Attend an online briefing session
- Commit to approximately x 10 hours to the judging process
- Maintain strict confidentiality and do not disclose the results of finalists and winners before formal announcements.
2022 KEY DATES
- 24 June – Expression of interest to be a judge close
- 1 July – Judges notified
- 22 July – online judges briefing 9 am – 10.30 am
- 15 August – Judging commences
- 28 August – Judging closes, and assessments must be final in the system
- 30 August – In-person judges’ deliberation. 9 am – 1pm at Bunjil Place
- 15 September – finalists announced at a business breakfast 6.45 am – 9.30 am
- 10 November – winners announced at a gala dinner 6 pm – 10 pm
